Description: Premium 2023 Gibbston Chardonnay from 28 year old, own-rooted vines. 100% barrel fermented with quality French oak inserts. Planned to complete full malo in Spring. Vibrant with fresh citrus and a creamy texture. Made by a highly awarded winemaker.
This wine has been made from primarily Mendoza clone chardonnay from a single vineyard, established some 28 years ago and yielding just four tonnes per hectare. It shows aromas of the apples, pears, apricots and cherries, historically common to high Central Otago. Crafted with a hint of oak, wine was fermented in neutral barriques and completed a full malolactic fermentation. The result is a lightly textured wine with a long, fresh finish.
